Candy’s Not All You Can Get for Free on Halloween

This Halloween, skip the tricks and go all in on treats. From pumpkin-shaped pizzas to $1 “zombie” cocktails, restaurants across the country are offering hauntingly good deals—even free food—for Halloween.

Krispy Kreme

Requirement: Wearing a costume

Krispy Kreme is serving up Halloween-themed doughnuts in October, such as the Jack-O’-Lantern Doughnut and Trick-or-Treat Doughnut. Stop by select Krispy Kreme stores on the 31st in your costume, and you’ll receive a free doughnut of your choice.

Requirement: None

Scream for ice cream at Baskin-Robbins in October with seasonally themed frozen treats like the Fang-Tastic Monster Cake and Trick Oreo Treat flavored ice cream. And on Halloween Day itself, you can buy regular or kid-sized scoops of ice cream for just $1.50.

Requirement: Ages 21+

Applebee’s Halloween treat is just for the grownups. All October, patrons 21 and older can get a budget-friendly cocktail called the Dollar Zombie. The electric-blue drink blends rum, pineapple, passion fruit, cherry and lime flavors and is topped with a gummy “brain.” True to its name, the Dollar Zombie costs one buck.

Requirement: Ages 12 and under, dine-in only

From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Halloween, select IHOP locations will serve a free Scary Face Pancake to kids 12 and under. The pancake comes with whipped topping, a strawberry nose, two mini Oreo cookies and candy corn for decorating.

Joe’s Crab Shack

Requirement: Purchase of one adult entrée

Before your kids embark on their candy binges, bring them to Joe’s Crab Shack where they’ll eat free on Halloween (with the purchase of one adult entrée). Costumes are welcomed but not required.

Papa John’s

Requirement: None

All month, Papa John’s is serving up an $11 pumpkin-shaped pizza and offering deals like five large one-topping pies for $42.50 and five large one-topping pizzas with three sides or desserts for $55.

Requirement: Wearing a costume, wrapping yourself in aluminum foil

This Halloween, hit up Chipotle wearing a costume between 3 p.m. and closing time to purchase a burrito—a boorito, if you will—bowl, salad or order of tacos for $4.

Separately, you can enter for a chance to win free burritos for a year by making a costume out of foil, crossing your fingers it doesn’t tear, taking a photo of yourself wearing the costume inside a Chipotle and tagging @chipotle on the photo in Instagram. The Instagram contest lasts from Halloween to November 1st and is open to people who are 13 or older and stockpile foil in their kitchen.

Requirement: Wearing a costume and taking a photo

Fried chicken chain Bojangles’ is also offering an online photo contest this Halloween. If you take a photo of yourself wearing a Bojangles’-themed costume (something we all have lying around our closets) you have the chance to win a fried turkey and $200 in Bojangles’ gift cards. You can upload the photo here anytime between now and 11:59 p.m. EST on Halloween.
