Expanded unemployment benefits are ending: 4 aid programs could help

Starting the first week of September, when enhanced Covid-era unemployment benefits, established by the March 2020 Cares Act, expire, about 7.5 million Americans will no longer receive expanded unemployment checks. Four other federal pandemic-related programs that were recently extended and could help offset some of the loss in cash for eligible applicants.
